"Oh fuck... what time is it?" Carl rolled over to look at the stand beside his bed. There stood a large chainmaille sculpture, much resembling an eyeball, staring back at him; the dial from an all-too-familiar pocket watch as its pupil. 5:30. Early but not too early. He rolled back onto his back and store up at the ceiling. "This sucks."

With an exuberant sigh, the bare ass vampyre threw his sheets away and sat up on the side of his bed. His head fell into his hand as the blood rushed down his body, small starts dotted his vision for a moment then eased along with his headache. He rose his head and wiped the night time numbness from chin and neck then continued to his feet.

After a few awkward, zombified steps Carl cracked open the curtains and peeked out the window. There was a dim greyness that followed the sunset covering the courtyard. It seemed a painful reminder of the light-filled world which he'd been exiled from long ago. With a snear he turned away from the window and made his way around his bed. He ruffeled through the drawers of his dresser and found what he needed. Clothes in-hand he made his way to the shower to wash away his nightly torment.

"Two months. Two fucking months..." Carl thought to himself as he stared up at the shower head. Not a single smirk had crossed his face since she'd left. He'd tell himself it was only because he hadn't gotten any action in a long-ass time, but the truth was much softer then that. All he'd done for the passing weeks was craft and train. He'd done little other then that since recovering from the Colin Assassination, but before she left he'd also found time for other things; things that she wanted to do.

This shower was so much larger now. He turned from the water stream and placed his hand on the door. The thought of her sitting on the bathroom counter flashed into his head , but as it swung open he knew that she was still away. The water turned off as he stepped out of the shower and grabbed his towel. He'd gotten used to this routine, or he thought he had, drying himself then dressing without enticing delays. It was rather dull and not something Carl enjoyed.

His hair had become second nature to him decades ago, this much was obvious as he molded it with effortless precision. They had never really dedicated themselves to one another, but the lonely brujah didn't want to take the chance on being rejected even once upon her return... not that he hadn't thought about it... a lot. This may have been, per chance, one of the main reasons he'd stayed secluded since she'd left. It wasn't that he didn't completely trust the other women of Ulcis (which he didn't), but he wasn't completely sure he'd trust himself around them.

"...maybe that's somthing we should've clarified before she left..." Carl spoke to himself in the mirror as he finished up with his hair. He turned around and moved back into the main part of his chambers. The crafting area at the far end hadn't much changed since he'd moved in. Obviously the stock of un-used materials was always varying, but the actual setup hadn't. He had two new racks set up on the walls, blades on one and armor on the other. He'd make sure everyone was outfitted before they left for their next mission, just as he made sure Carys was ready when she left two months ago.

"Ya know, what-the fuck-ever." He'd been debating a barroom breakfast for a couple mornings now, and he figured he was finally ready for one. He grabbed his coat from the bedpost and draped it over one shoulder. It'd been ages since he socialized with anyone, it was about time he repaired some lost friendships.

I'm very proud of my posts ^_^ especially considering it's the first thing I've really written in..... a couple months really, or put alot of effort into anyway. If you don't know what V is then it probably wasn't worth reading, and if you do know what V is then you've probably read it, so it's kinda' pointless for me to post it here, but I'm bored!

...Is a great movie. But boy did it suck hard to watch such a great movie.
First off, I want to say that I wanna watch that new penguin movie. It looks great lol.

Em, you might wanna stop reading now.... (and anyone who hasn't seen the movie. Chances are there will be spoilers)

...okay, don't say I didn't warn you.

I saw way too much of myself in that movie, everywhere I didn't want to see myself. I found myself pissed off at Peter for being selfish in the begining as I'm sure everyone did, but I didn't see myself there. At that point I was just pretty sure that it was going to be an overall great movie. What happened next... um, then the ring scene, that struck a note. Not for proposal, but just the idea of everything going good then being blindsided by something else. Then he got the black suit, his monster and it felt good. I don't understand why he took on an Emo look but to each his own. Thats about when I felt most connected. Having the monster on your back but trying to convince everyone you're fine. I swear, this made more since during the movie when I was thinking about it.... Then when he hit her, and that entire scene prior, my arm just tensed up (I think I pulled something 'cause it still hurts....) But when I thought about it, I can say I've never wanted to exact revenge in that manner, but I can't say It never crossed my mind, but I could not stand seeing someone who was good at heart be so crude, and I didn't want to believe I could let that happen to myself. Then she still tried to talk to him, and harry wanted to help too but he wouldn't let anyone in. Am I doing that? Are people trying to help and I'm ignoring them? No, I'm not. The people that want to help are trying hard but it's not doing anything. I'm beyond the help that they can give. Only three or four of you will read this, less if people actually read my warning, and I find myself wondering if I'll get any responses at all.

Then the rest of the movie I felt as guilty as him and I don't even know why. That song at the end.... every word she says rings true, and I can only assume that the rest of the song would have applied as well. But it doesn't always end up like it does in the movies, that it does not. (There was more shit going on in my head at the time, but my memory isn't what it used to be... actually it's never been 'what it used to be')

I can't tell if fate is trying to spite me or convince me of something.... Fuck.

Anyway, thats it for now. It's too late for me to go fuck up my punching bag so I'll probably be very frustrated tomorrow until I'm able to have a good 'bout with my bag.

“Sarah!!!” My eyes widened as the earth collapsed from beneath her. I threw myself forward to grasp her hand, but by the time I reached the reseeding cliff line it was far too late. Lunging to my knees, I clutched my hands tightly on twin rocks at the ende of the abyss and threw my head over.
Shaking the hair from my horror filled eyes; I saw what could be no less then a miracle. There she was, no more then ten feet below me hanging from a protruding tree. It looked strong but mangy, holding itself almost two hundred feet up on the slate cliff. I could hear her shouting up to me, calling my name as she wept in fear.
“Sarah, hold on!” I shouted down at her. I reached my arm down, trying to grab a hold of the tree itself, but it alluded me by almost two yards. My face filled with and and determination as I shouted back down to her.
“I’ll save you, I promise!” I backed a few feet away from the edge and frantically stumbled to my feet. I looked around for a moment, my mind racing through plan after plan. Finally I broke into a sprint as I charged back to the tree line to forage through out hiking gear.
I brothe* a sigh of relief when I saw the neatly coiled static rope tied to her bag. As I untied it, a numbing thought flew through my mind: ‘What if it’s to short!?’. I whipped my head around to check the distance to the cliff. It was almost another two hundred feet from there to the tree line. As I shook the pessimistic thought from my mind, I hurriedly tied one end of the rope to a tree and charged back to the cliff.

“Sarah, I’m here!” I knelt a moment too soon and skidded my way to the edge of the cliff. Much to my relief, she was still hanging there. I pulled the rope taunt, and much to my dismay I only had a good five feet left. I looked down at her, then back to the rope, then back to her and the rope again. Without another thought I threw my legs over the edge and started walking down the edge.
“Grab my hand!” I shouted down to her as I reached the end of my rope. My free arm stretched down to grab her but it still came less then a foot short. It took a moment for her to get enough confidence to reach up for me. But as soon as her hand was high enough, I latched a hold of her wrist and literally threw her the five or so feet back up onto the cliff. The adrenalin running through my veins made me almost superhumanly strong, and the fact that she only weighed a hundred or so pounds helped too.
As she disappeared over the top edge I felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Lord knows what her parents would have done if I’d let her fall. I looked back to the cliff in front of me, hoping to find a usable hand or foot hold. There however, I was not so lucky. The cliff edge was straight up like a steel wall except for the lone tree beneath me.
I shook my head in disappointment as I started climbing hand over hand up the robe. Not an easy task when your focal point is almost two hundred feet away. The rope above me was singing hopelessly left and right, swinging me with it. I hadn’t gotten more then three feet up when I saw Sarah appear over the edge and lower her arm down to me. I grinned lightly and reached up to grab her.
Literally just as I grabbed a hold of her arm, the rope still in my other hand went lax. My eyes opened wide as all of my weight transferred to her rather frail arm. I could see the pain in her eyes as she gripped my hand tightly and tried valiantly to pull me up.
‘My knot must have come loose when let the pressure from it.’ I mentally bashed myself for doing something so stupid. I knew there was no way she could pull me back up, or even hold me there for very long. Tears fell once more from her recently dried eyes and I could almost see her arm being pulled from its socket. I looked down quickly to try and find that lone tree, but I had moved almost fifteen feet to its left, there was no hope of getting back to it in time.
I looked back into her tearful, pain filled eyes with a look of despair. There was nothing else I could do; only one choice open if I wanted her to live. I let out a small, childish smile as a single tear rolled down my face.
“I love you….” I spoke to her quietly, trying to look as strong as she needed to be. I shook my head lightly as she tried to say something back to me.
“Good Bye.” I wriggled my hand free from her grip and plummeted downward. I could see her trying to lunge further down to grab me again. I felt sad for her; I knew she would sad for a long time. And that her sadness would be my fault. I turned in the air as this overwhelming guild came over me. I couldn’t bear to look at her any more.
Then it hit me, not until I was almost at the ground. Closing at countless feet per second; the wind blowing up at me as the ground grew closer and closer-
‘I’m dead’

* - Is ‘brothe’ the correct past tense of ‘breathe’?

That took along time to write and it kinda’ fell apart at the end. I would have liked the last page to be more descriptive, but I wasn’t able to write a rough draft for that part, so it ended up not as good as I’d have liked.
Basically I felt the music you played gave off a subtle sense of urgency. And that subtle sense of urgency evolved into this. Make sure you play the music while you read this and I hope you enjoyed!

Never make fun of an Ogre. Looking back, it probably wasn’t the best choice I’ve eva’ made. Man musta been over seven feet tall and not exactly a weenie if you know what I mean. Bloomin body builder cracked me right in the face with a full keg! Swung it as fast as a bloody base-ball bat right inta me smacka. Had dentures and a neck brace by the end a the week. Luckily the hulk settled outa court, prolly the only smart thing he’d eva done. Lord knows I didn’t have enough ta pay fer a lawyer.
Afta about a month a sick leave I had to quit me jobe. It’s kinda risky wielden a jackhamma when the vibration from a passing loco[motive] damn near kills ya. Din’ do much for me social life eitha. Kinda hard to swoon the lovelies when ya gots a scar ova the bottom half a ya face an yer walkin around lookin like a human antenna.
Me name’s Josh Eli Grace. I’m 35, that’s the story of me downhill tumble and now that I be at the bottom, I don’t plan on living long enough to get back to the top….

A couple side notes from me:
First: I want it to be known that I AM IN NO WAY SUICIDAL. T’was simply the character in my story and I do not share in any way his want to die! If I get someone calling me about this, Mr. 3dwards I will not be pleased with you.
Second: Everything in there is spelled the way it was meant to be spelled. The character was created with bad grammar in mind.
Third: Normally I shoot for a full page. But this would be about a page written and I didn’t really want to get into the part where he does kill himself so I ended it there.

Explorers expidition

October 24, 2005; 20:56

Today, on the thirteenth day of our expedition, we’ve finally found what we came to Africa looking for. After bushwhacking our way through the jungle, we happened upon a burial ground placed in a small clearing near the river of Ogawa. It took Gee’lo, our guide, damn near three hours to find the right tomb so we could start digging. I suppose I should be thankful this was even the right gravesite, but those were the longest three hours of my life.
The men hadn’t been digging for five minutes before my excitement damn near boiled over. It was about then I realized that I should have contracted more diggers. It took those two another hour and a half to get down to the coffin. By then I was so nervous thinking about what we might fine that my limbs were shaking with anticipation and I had to take a sedative to calm me. (Note to self: Check 1 perfalex)
The four of us took our time delicately raising the tomb from its place of (not-so) eternal rest. We gently set it down next to the grave on a tarp I’d prepared as my grueling hour and a half had taken its course. The carved hardwood burial casing much resembled a common jungle bird (Note to self: Replace with name of bird upon returning to the US). With little effort, we managed to pry the lid off this ancient container only to marvel at what we found inside. There was no body decaying inside, but rather mounds of hay gathered like packing peanuts about two strange bone statuettes. It took two of us a piece to haul them *gently* out of the coffin and onto our out laid bedrolls.
Thus ensued a lengthy conversation about what they could possibly be. After hours of deliberation, it was finally determined that they were blueprints. Three Dimensional Models of twin ancient African temple further into this dense jungle. We could only assume that the blue dots on the heavier masterpiece were some kind of map to these temples. A map tha unfortunately eluded us.
Tomorrow we make our way back to Gee’lo’s village and from there back to civilization. I must consult my peers and the many libraries modern life has to offer before continuing on. I’ve marked our journey on my Global Positioning Devise a plan to follow it to the letter to return to this place after my new research is complete… though that may take years in itself.
